Natural documentary photography with a romantic, classical eye
I’m Kerry, a British, English-speaking wedding photographer based near Pézenas in Hérault. I photograph weddings across Occitanie, Provence and the wider South of France, from intimate celebrations at private homes to full wedding weekends at vineyards and châteaux.
My photographs are about the people, the place and the feeling of the day. I document what naturally happens, give clear direction when it is useful and make sure you spend your wedding with the people you invited, not trapped in a long photo shoot.
Photographs that feel like your wedding
A wedding is a social event. The photographs should show more than how everything looked. I am watching for the hug immediately after the ceremony, the expression on a parent’s face, the friend laughing before the punchline and the small exchanges happening around the edges of the obvious moments.
Most of the day is photographed quietly as it unfolds. I do not stop real moments to recreate them for the camera. When direction will genuinely help, particularly during group photographs and couple portraits, I step in calmly and work quickly.
The result is a complete collection with movement, humour, atmosphere and affection, alongside polished portraits that make proper use of the light and landscape. You can see more in my South of France wedding photography portfolio.
How I photograph the day
A strong wedding gallery should work from beginning to end, not only during golden hour. It should include the quiet preparations, difficult midday light, the ceremony, family groups, guests, speeches and whatever happens after dark.
A complete story
I photograph the whole shape of the day, including the people and interactions you may not see for yourself. I work alone, which keeps the coverage discreet and means you know exactly who will be with you.
For a full wedding day, couples normally receive approximately 500 to 700 individually edited photographs, in colour and black and white. I send a preview soon after the wedding and most complete galleries are delivered within around one month.
Portraits without losing the party
My portraits have a romantic, classical quality, but they are not stiff or heavily staged. I normally work with the two of you for five to fifteen minutes at a time, using the venue, landscape and best available light.
If the light becomes particularly beautiful later, I may suggest another brief walk together. You get photographs that make proper use of the setting without disappearing from your drinks reception for an hour.
The people matter as much as the setting
South of France venues can be extraordinary, but the building is not the story. Your family, friends and relationships are.
I pay attention to guests of every age, the exchanges between generations and the unexpected moments that give a wedding its personality. Beautiful surroundings matter, but the photographs should still feel unmistakably yours.
Experience you can rely on
I have a degree in Fine Art Photography and wrote A Guide to Wedding Photojournalism. I have judged the UK Wedding Industry Awards, appeared on Channel 4’s Escape to the Chateau, and my work has appeared in publications including Tatler, You & Your Wedding, The London Evening Standard and New York Brides.
I am British and have lived in Hérault since 2016. Many of my couples plan their weddings from the UK, Ireland, the US or elsewhere, so contracts, timings and family circumstances can all be discussed clearly in English.
Experience matters most when something changes. A late ceremony, difficult light, a sudden storm or a nervous room should not become your problem. My job is to stay calm, adapt and keep looking for the photographs.
Where I work in the South of France
I am based near Pézenas in Hérault, within easy reach of many wedding venues around Béziers and Montpellier. I regularly photograph weddings across Occitanie and travel into Provence for the right celebration.
Living here gives me practical knowledge of the summer heat, strong afternoon sun, local roads and the distances that can exist between accommodation, preparations, the ceremony and the reception.

Where are you based?
I am based near Pézenas in Hérault. I photograph weddings throughout Occitanie, Provence and the wider South of France, with travel discussed when you enquire.
What is your photography style?
I combine documentary wedding photography with polished, classical portraiture. Most of the day is photographed naturally, with calm direction for family groups and couple portraits when it helps.
How long do couple portraits take?
Usually five to fifteen minutes at a time. I work around the best available light and may suggest a second brief session later, so you receive strong portraits without missing the celebration.
How many photographs will we receive?
A full wedding day normally produces approximately 500 to 700 individually edited photographs. The exact number depends on the coverage, guest numbers and events of the day.
When will our gallery be ready?
I send a preview soon after the wedding. Most complete galleries are delivered within around one month through a private online gallery with high-resolution and web-sized downloads.
How far ahead should we book?
For summer Saturdays, nine to eighteen months ahead gives you the best chance of availability. It is still worth asking closer to the date, particularly for a weekday, Sunday or smaller wedding.
