Wedding Photography FAQs

Planning a wedding in France often comes with a lot of questions, especially if you are organising everything from abroad. I’ve photographed more than 1,500 weddings across Occitanie, Hérault and the wider South of France, so I’ve gathered answers to the most common questions couples ask. If there is anything else you’d like to know, you are always welcome to get in touch.

Wedding Photography FAQs – Coverage and approach

How would you describe your photography style?
My work is relaxed and natural. I mix documentary photography with elegant, lightly guided portraits. I capture real moments as they unfold and step in only when it helps you look your best without feeling awkward.

Do you direct or pose people?
Only when needed. Group photos and portraits benefit from gentle guidance, but the rest of the day unfolds naturally. I want you to spend your time celebrating, not performing.

How many weddings do you photograph each year?
I take on a maximum of fifteen weddings per season so I can give each couple the time, attention and focus they deserve.

Do you photograph small weddings and elopements?
Yes. I love intimate celebrations. Whether it is just the two of you or a small gathering of family and close friends, I work with the same care and attention.

Do you photograph destination weddings outside Occitanie?
Most of my work is in the South of France, especially around Hérault, Aude and Gard, but I also travel further when the timing allows.

Timelines and the day itself

How many hours of coverage do we need?
For most weddings, coverage begins with preparations and continues until a natural stopping point in the evening. Couples can choose coverage that finishes when everyone sits down to eat, coverage that includes the first dance, or coverage that continues well into the dancing. For weekday weddings or shorter celebrations, I can also create a tailored plan.

When should we do group photos?
Straight after the ceremony or during the drinks reception works best. I usually wait until everyone has given you a hug and got themselves a drink. The guests are relaxed and it avoids interrupting the flow of the day.

When do you do couple portraits?
I prefer to work with the best light of the day, which is often during golden hour. Portraits are quick, natural and never take you away for long. We build these into your timetable, depending on how much time you want to spend on it.

What happens if the weather is bad?
I’ve photographed weddings in every type of weather. I adjust quickly, use flattering indoor light when needed and keep things calm so you still enjoy the moment. I keep one eye open for rainbows!

Deliverables and Editing

How many photos do we receive?
For a full day wedding, couples usually receive between 550 and 750 images, depending on the length and pace of the day.

Do you edit all the images?
Yes. Every photograph you receive is edited for colour, tone and consistency. I want your collection to feel polished and timeless.

How long does it take to receive our photos?
Most couples receive their full gallery within a month. During peak season it may take slightly longer, but I always keep you updated.

Do you offer albums or prints?
Yes. I offer beautifully designed books and prints that complement the style of your images.

Travel and Logistics

Do you charge travel fees?
Travel up to 2 and a half hours of Pézenas is included. For weddings further across Occitanie or Provence, I add simple, transparent travel costs.

Do you need accommodation?
For venues more than 2 and a half hours from Pézenas or finishing late at night, an overnight stay is often needed for safety. I keep these costs modest and predictable.

Do you work with planners?
Yes. I am happy to collaborate with your planner or venue coordinator to help the day run smoothly.

Booking and Payments

How do we book you?
Once you decide to go ahead, I send a simple online contract. A €750 booking fee secures the date. I cannot save dates without both of those.

How far in advance should we book?
Summer dates in the South of France book first, often nine to eighteen months ahead. If you are considering a date, it is worth checking availability early.

What is the payment schedule?
A €750 booking fee secures your date. Three months before the wedding, half of the remaining balance is due, and the final payment is made one month before. It keeps everything simple and spread out during the planning process.
