Elopement Photographer France
I’m an elopement photographer in France, working with couples who want a simple, meaningful way to marry without the pressure of a traditional wedding and who don’t want a big production.
You don’t want to spend your wedding day managing guests, schedules or expectations.
You want something meaningful, calm and personal. Something that feels like you.
That’s why couples choose to elope in France.
Elopements are for couples who want to focus on what actually matters. The commitment, the connection, the experience of being present together. No pressure to perform. No traditions followed out of obligation. Just a day shaped around the two of you.
I’m an elopement photographer in France, working with couples who want their wedding day to feel simple, intentional and deeply personal.
The problem most couples face when eloping
Many couples love the idea of eloping, but feel unsure once they start planning.
Will it feel too small?
Will it feel rushed?
Will it still feel like a real wedding?
The truth is, elopements often allow more space, not less.
With fewer people and fewer distractions, moments have room to breathe. Conversations last longer. Emotions land properly. The day feels lived rather than scheduled. My role is to protect that feeling and document it honestly, without turning it into something staged or over directed.
WHAT AN ELOPEMENT IN FRANCE CAN LOOK LIKE
There’s no single way to elope in France.
Some couples choose a legal ceremony at a mairie, followed by time wandering a village or sharing a long lunch. Others exchange vows privately in a place that feels meaningful to them. A vineyard, a quiet street, a viewpoint at sunrise, or somewhere completely unexpected.
The common thread isn’t the location or the formality. It’s intention. Elopements are chosen by couples who want freedom, intimacy and presence on their wedding day.
How I photograph elopements
I work as a calm presence rather than a director. You won’t be asked to perform or pose constantly. Portraits happen naturally, often while you’re moving, talking or simply being together.
I pay close attention to the in between moments. The pauses, the laughter, the way your hands find each other when no one is watching. These are the details that tell the real story of your day.
My approach is relaxed, unobtrusive and led by what’s unfolding, not by a checklist.
Planning support without pressure
Elopements can feel unfamiliar, especially if you’re planning from abroad. While I’m not a planner, I’ve photographed many elopements in France and understand how these days tend to flow.
I can help you think through timing, light and pacing so your day feels calm rather than rushed. The photography is always built around your plans, never the other way around.
Elopements often move gently through the day rather than following a strict timeline. Light, location and energy tend to guide the pace. I work around that rhythm, giving you space to be present while quietly documenting the story as it unfolds.
If you’re planning something slightly bigger, with a small group of close family or friends, you may also want to explore small and intimate weddings in France.

Availability and next steps
Elopement coverage is flexible and usually shorter than traditional wedding photography. Some couples book a few hours, others choose longer coverage to document travel or multiple locations. I take on a limited number of elopements each year to ensure each couple receives the time and attention their day deserves. If you’re planning an elopement in France and want photography that feels natural, personal and unforced, I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.
As a wedding photographer based in the South of France, I photograph elopements across Hérault, Provence, Aude, Gard and further afield on occasion.
