Families often come together in the South of France for holidays, reunions or special moments that don’t happen very often. When everyone is finally in the same place, it’s a rare opportunity to slow down and capture how that time actually felt.

I photograph families in a relaxed, natural way, outdoors or at your holiday home, without stiff posing or pressure. The aim is simple. To create photographs that reflect connection, laughter and the dynamic that already exists between you.

The problem most families face on holiday

Holidays move quickly. Days blur together, children grow, grandparents age, and before you know it, everyone is heading home again.
Many families worry that a photoshoot will feel awkward, staged or like another thing to schedule. In reality, the best family photographs often come from doing very little at all. A walk, a conversation, time together in good light.
My role is to make the process easy, calm and genuinely enjoyable, so the experience becomes part of the memory rather than an interruption to it.

Family sessions usually take place outdoors, in locations that already matter to you. A vineyard, a village, the grounds of your rental, or somewhere close by that feels natural and unforced.
Sessions are unhurried and flexible. Children can move, adults can relax, and nothing needs to be perfect. I work with what’s there, focusing on interaction rather than instruction.

How I Photograph Families in the South of France

I guide family sessions with clear, relaxed direction so everyone knows where to stand and what’s happening. The core of each session is a set of beautifully composed, posed family photographs. A celebration of the fact that you are all here, together, at this moment in time.

Once those images are in place, there’s room to loosen things up. A walk along the beach, time with the family dog, children playing, or small interactions that naturally happen when people feel settled and confident.

This balance is intentional. You leave with strong, timeless family portraits that work on walls and albums, alongside more relaxed images that capture movement, personality and connection. Nothing is left to chance, but nothing feels forced.

Family sessions are planned around your holiday, not the other way around. Timing is chosen carefully to suit light, temperature and energy levels, especially with children involved.
I’ll guide you on when and where works best, while keeping everything simple and flexible. There’s no rush, no strict timeline, and no pressure for things to look a certain way.

When Everyone Is Finally in the Same Place

Many family sessions here in the South of France bring together multiple generations. Grandparents visiting from abroad, adult children returning home, cousins seeing each other for the first time in years. These moments are rare, and they matter.
I work confidently with larger family groups, making sure everyone is included and comfortable, and that nothing important is missed. Clear direction keeps things calm and efficient, which is especially helpful when there are older relatives, young children, or limited time together.

We create the photographs that families often regret not having. Grandparents with grandchildren. Siblings together. The full family, properly photographed. These are the images that tend to grow in value over time.
