About Kerry Morgan

Documentary wedding photography, with calm guidance when you need it

I’m Kerry Morgan, an English-speaking documentary wedding photographer based near Pézenas in Hérault. I photograph weddings and elopements across Occitanie, Provence and the wider South of France.

Kerry Morgan photographer

I studied Fine Art Photography at Bournemouth College of Art and Design before building my career in London. Since then, I have photographed weddings across Europe, Asia, North America and Central Asia. I later taught visual storytelling and wrote A Guide to Wedding Photojournalism.

That background still shapes the way I work. I watch carefully, anticipate what is about to happen and create photographs that feel natural while still being beautifully composed. I offer direction when it is useful, but I also know when to step back and leave a moment alone.

Your wedding should not feel like a photoshoot

I do not want photography to pull you away from your wedding.

For most of the day, I quietly photograph what unfolds without interrupting it. I pay attention to the people, the atmosphere and the small moments happening around you, including the ones you may not notice at the time.

When guidance is helpful, I keep it clear and simple. Family photographs are organised efficiently, and relaxed couple portraits usually take only a few minutes at a time. You will not disappear for an hour while everyone else enjoys the drinks reception.

The result is a complete record of the day. Not just how everything looked, but the nerves, laughter, weather, noise, movement and conversations that made it yours.

You can see this approach in my wedding stories, where I share complete celebrations rather than a collection of isolated highlights.

Local knowledge that makes a difference

I moved to the South of France in 2016 and now live near Pézenas. I regularly photograph weddings at châteaux, domaines, abbeys, villas and private homes throughout the region.

Living here means I understand the practical realities of a wedding in southern France. The strength of the summer sun, the speed at which the evening light changes, travel times between locations and the effect of heat on a schedule can all influence how the day runs and how it is photographed.

I am fully registered to work professionally in France, so there is no uncertainty about permission to work or last-minute complications caused by bringing in a photographer from overseas.

Most of the couples I work with are planning their wedding from the UK, Ireland or the United States. I understand how it feels to organise everything from another country, and I can help with timings, light, locations and the practical details that affect the photographs.

My guide to South of France wedding venues includes places I know personally and have photographed.

Who I work best with

I work best with couples who care deeply about their photographs but do not want photography to dominate the wedding.

They want natural moments, thoughtful composition and a photographer who can handle the organised parts calmly and efficiently. They want to spend time with their guests, enjoy the meal, listen to the speeches and remember what the celebration actually felt like. (And that’s what me – Kerry Morgan, does!)

My wedding photography portfolio offers a broader selection of work from weddings across Occitanie, Provence and other parts of France.

A little more about Kerry Morgan

When I am not photographing weddings, I am usually hiking with friends, swimming in the Mediterranean or eating oysters somewhere near the coast.

I like early mornings, old French villages, dry British humour and people who do not take themselves too seriously. I am drawn to photographs that feel honest and unforced, but are still carefully observed and beautifully made.

If you are planning a wedding or elopement in the South of France, tell me your date, venue and what you want the day to feel like.
