Chateau de Pouget Wedding – Hannah & John’s Incredible Day
Hannah and John’s Chateau de Pouget Wedding was one of those days that goes past in a blink of an eye. I think mainly because there was just stuff happening all the time and I was super busy with capturing all the elements. John is french and Hannah is English but they are both Jewish. They got married in a ceremony outside at Chateau de Pouget. It’s a charming place. Really beautiful, especially for a wedding. I found lots of areas that were brilliant for the posed and groups pictures. Here’s the story of Hannah and John’s day…
The outdoor ceremony all set up for Hannah and John’s wedding.

Loved the feel of this room.

There are so many beautiful little areas in and around Chateau de Pouget

I love the old feel of this image.

John, all ready.

This kids were very cute, all leaning up against the stage to get a good look at proceedings.
Breaking the glass, Jewish couples include this tradition in their wedding ceremony as it symbolises the absolute finality of the marital covenant.
I shot all the groups in front of this beautiful Oleander plant. I love shooting groups like this, it’s not often all the family are together.
Guests were treated to a champagne reception in the couples honour with a selection of canapés.
The band that the couple used were all Vogue Live and they entertained the guests all day.
Chateau de Pouget all set up for the wedding breakfast.
We took a walk away from the rest of the guests to shoot some nice portraits. I chose simple directions as opposed to lots of cheesy poses. I want my pictures to be shot quickly and naturally to work with the rest of my hands off story-telling style.
It was straight into the party the band started up and the guests went crazy.
I was very proud to win a Wedding Photojournalist Award for the image above of the guests dancing.
The band were superb and kept the party going. You can see their site here Vogue Live Band
Photographing jewish dancing is hard, the only thing you can do is get right in the thick of it and hope you don’t end up with a black eye!
It was time for a breather and the speeches.
Not everyone was keen on the noise!
At the end of the night, the couple had a Jewish Henna ceremony.
Congratulations Hannah & John on your Chateau de Pouget Wedding!
