Olivia and Fred’s Abbaye de Valmagne wedding began with a stunning ceremony inside the venue’s ancient chapel — a remarkable space filled with history, echoing stone arches, and a sense of calm reverence. It’s one of the most unique and meaningful ceremony settings I’ve photographed in the South of France.
With the summer heat in full swing, drinks were served inside the cool, shaded cloisters. The long stone corridors gave guests space to gather and enjoy the moment, while still feeling connected to the venue’s incredible atmosphere. Dinner was held outside under the pagoda, with tables styled in a fresh garden feel — greenery and potted plants draped from the ceiling, creating a relaxed, elegant atmosphere. Long tables encouraged conversation, and soft lighting added a lovely warmth as the sun went down.
After the meal and speeches, the couple cut their cake just outside the cave, creating a natural transition into the evening party. Once inside, the mood shifted — the lighting, music, and layout all contributed to an atmosphere that felt like a private club.
One of the things that made this reception so memorable was the addition of signature cocktails. The couple created a short drinks menu with their favourites — including espresso martinis and spicy margaritas — which felt like a personal touch and added a sense of occasion. Guests loved it, and the bar was buzzing all night.
The DJs were excellent, reading the crowd and mixing just the right balance of newer hits with older favourites.
