Chateau Rieutort Wedding – Katherine and Sam’s Elegant day

I get to shoot some stunning weddings in the South of France! And this one was the beautiful wedding day of Katherine and Sam at the enchanting Chateau Rieutort. As their wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing their special moments amidst the breath-taking backdrop of this picturesque venue.  Chateau Rieutort is just down the road from me, and I really enjoy shooting there.

Chateau Rieutort Wedding Preparations

The day began with excitement and anticipation as Katherine and Sam prepared for their wedding. Laughter filled the air in the bridal suite, while the groom’s quarters buzzed with nervous energy. It was a joy to witness these candid moments and the love that filled the atmosphere.

Under the azure skies and amidst the scenic beauty of the French countryside, Katherine and Sam exchanged heartfelt vows in an intimate outdoor ceremony. Surrounded by loved ones, they embarked on their journey as a married couple.

Drinks Reception

The celebration continued with a relaxed and joyful drinks reception, where guests gathered in the shade of the courtyard to toast the newlyweds. Glasses clinked, laughter echoed across the gardens, and the atmosphere felt full of warmth and excitement. Château Rieutort provided the perfect backdrop — elegant without being too formal, and full of rustic charm that added a special kind of magic to the day.
One of the highlights was the couple’s champagne tower, which set the tone for the evening: fun, celebratory, and a little bit glamorous. Guests loved it, and it made for some brilliant photographs too.
As South of France wedding venues go, Château Rieutort really stands out — not just for its beauty, but for the way it allows guests to feel completely at ease. Whether sipping champagne under the trees or exploring the grounds, there’s space to breathe and enjoy every moment.

Dinner & Speeches

As the sun began to set, everyone gathered for a sumptuous dinner and heart-warming speeches. The atmosphere was filled with love and laughter as family and friends shared touching stories, celebrating the couple’s union.  The couple’s entrance was a traditional french one – napkins waving from all the guests.

Golden Hour in the South of France

One of the highlights of the day was the golden hour shoot. Katherine and Sam took a moment away from the crowd to capture breath-taking portraits bathed in the warm, ethereal glow of the setting sun. The South of France’s golden hour offered a perfect backdrop, allowing for intimate and timeless photographs.  I love shooting at this time. The pressure of the day’s formalities are over and these portraits are relaxed and warm. The golden hour presents a magical opportunity to create unforgettable images, allowing you and your partner to escape the bustle and grab a moment to yourselves.

Dancing at Chateau Rieurtort

Capturing the joyous moments of wedding dancing outdoors, surrounded by fun-loving guests and a phenomenal DJ, is an absolute delight for any wedding photographer. As the beats fill the air and the energy levels soar, there’s an infectious excitement that sweeps through the dance floor. The vibrant atmosphere, combined with the open-air setting, creates an unparalleled sense of freedom and exuberance.

Katherine and Sam’s wedding at Chateau Rieutort was a beautiful celebration.  As a Chateau Rieutort wedding photographer, I had the honour of documenting their special day and preserving precious memories.
