A good portrait should feel recognisably like you, while doing its job properly. I photograph individuals who need considered, natural images for their website, professional profile, creative work or personal use.
My approach combines relaxed expression with careful composition. I will direct you clearly when it helps, then leave enough space for the more spontaneous expressions that often make the strongest photographs.

Most people do not want to look heavily posed, but they also do not want a set of casual snapshots. The balance lies between the two. I pay attention to light, background, posture and small details, while keeping your expression natural and the session conversational.

Direction without making you feel staged
You do not need to arrive knowing how to pose. I will guide where you stand, what to do with your hands and where to look, making small adjustments that improve the photograph without making you hold an unnatural position.
Once the essentials are working, I keep photographing through the moments between poses. A shift in expression or the point when you briefly forget about the camera can be the difference between a correct portrait and one that feels alive.

Depending on the photographs you need, the session can take place in your home or working environment, or at a suitable outdoor location. I will help choose a setting that works with the light and intended mood.
What if I feel uncomfortable in photographs?
That is very common. I give clear direction and keep the session moving, so you are not left wondering what to do or expected to perform for the camera.
Can we make both headshots and wider images?
Yes. If you need a varied set, we can plan close portraits, wider environmental photographs and images with space for text or website layouts.
How should I prepare?
Begin with where the images will be used and the impression they need to give. We can then discuss suitable clothing, setting and any practical details before the session.
How much does a portrait session cost?
The price depends on whether you need a concise headshot or a broader personal-branding collection, as well as the location. I will provide a clear quote once I understand the brief.
