Chateau Provence Wedding
A Joyful Chateau Wedding in Provence
James and Candice’s chateau wedding in Provence was an absolute pleasure to photograph. Set in the peaceful village of Saint-Maximin near Uzès, their wedding took place at a beautiful old chateau that seemed straight out of a dream. With its soft stone walls, ancient trees, and elegant interiors, it was the perfect place for a summer celebration with friends and family.
Although we had a few unexpected showers, the day was still filled with love, laughter, and plenty of smiles. Nothing could dampen the mood, and the rain only added a touch of romance to this beautiful occasion in the South of France.

Why Choose a Chateau Wedding in Provence
There’s something truly special about getting married in Provence. The pace of life slows down, the air smells of lavender, and time seems to stretch just a little longer. A chateau wedding in Provence allows couples to fully immerse themselves in that atmosphere and create an experience rather than just a day.
This particular venue, although now for sale, offered so much charm and character. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, it felt private and intimate, yet grand at the same time. With space for guests to stay on site and multiple outdoor areas for ceremonies and dinners, it was made for long wedding weekends filled with shared meals, music, and memories.

A Relaxed and Elegant Celebration
Candice looked incredible in her dress, which moved so beautifully as she walked through the gardens and tree-lined paths. She had a quiet elegance about her but never stopped smiling all day. James was just as relaxed and lovely to be around. Together they created a joyful, welcoming atmosphere that was a joy to document.
From the early morning preparations through to the dancing late into the night, every part of the day felt easy, fun, and full of heart. That natural flow is something I always aim to capture in my photography.

THe Chateau Wedding in Provence
The ceremony took place in the ancient stone archway of the chateau, and it was one of the most memorable parts of the day. The heat was intense, the kind that makes everything shimmer slightly, but the setting was so beautiful it didn’t matter one bit. The arch framed the couple perfectly, and the old stone seemed to hold the emotion of the moment.
One of the most touching elements was the wine ceremony. Candice and James each poured a different wine into a shared glass, symbolising the blending of their lives. It was simple, meaningful, and very them. I love moments like that; honest, heartfelt, and full of intention.
The guests gathered close, fanning themselves with orders of service, smiling through the heat, and fully present. It felt intimate, joyful, and truly personal, the kind of ceremony you don’t forget.

Capturing the Story Through Honest Moments
As a photographer, I love when a wedding feels real and unfiltered. There were no over-styled moments here, just genuine connection, beautiful surroundings, and a couple fully present with the people they love. It’s exactly the kind of story I love to tell through images.

Food to Remember by Theo Michaels
One of the standout elements of the day was the food. Theo Michaels, who has since become a well-known name, created a menu that was both beautiful and full of flavour. Using fresh Provençal ingredients, the meal was served long-table style in the courtyard, with shared platters and flowing wine.
There was a wonderful energy during the meal. Guests chatting, candles flickering, glasses clinking. It was a real celebration of togetherness and one of those moments that truly defines the feeling of a chateau wedding in Provence.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings in Provence
Provence has a magic all of its own. The light, the textures, the colours, and the way people gather outdoors all contribute to a relaxed and elegant atmosphere that’s a dream to photograph.
As a wedding photographer based in the South of France, I’ve been lucky enough to shoot many celebrations in this region. Each one is unique, but they all share that same warmth and sense of ease. A chateau wedding in Provence isn’t just about the location. It’s about connection, emotion, and creating space to truly enjoy one of the most important days of your life.
