Brocket Hall Wedding

Brocket Hall Wedding – Rachel & Jonathan’s brilliant day.

The Brocket Hall wedding of Rachel and Jonathan.  Sweet, heart-warming, fun and a real pleasure to shoot.  I have shot Brocket Hall weddings for many years and the venue never fails to disappoint.  Its stunning interior is classic and elegant.  The huge grounds are a treat for anyone wanting beautiful wedding photos.  Rachel and Jonathan said they wanted a relaxed feel to their photos.  I shoot in a documentary way for most of the day, where the couple can just relax and they don’t have to worry about the pictures.  They also wanted a handful of groups and portraits.  I always make sure these are done quickly, so you get back to enjoying the day with your friends and family.

The Wedding Preparations

The wedding preparations all took place at Brocket Hall. So i could go between the bride and the groom as they both got ready for their wedding.  The girls gave ever each presents and laughed a lot.  The boys put on ties and cufflinks as well as rescuing Jonathan’s lovely grandmother when she got stuck in the lavatory!

The Wedding Ceremony

The wedding was held at the St John The Evangelist church nearby to Brocket Hall. The vicar was quite strict and would not let me shoot from the front (I prefer shooting from the front because its nice to get the faces, reactions and emotions of the couple and their guests).  So I positioned myself in a pew half way down the aisle.  The ceremony was full of emotion and after exiting the church the couple were showered with confetti. The guests waved good bye and it was back to Brocket Hall.

Brocket Hall Wedding Photography

Jonathan and Rachel decided for their Brocket Hall wedding photography that they would let their guests travel to the venue first, making time for us to do a few pictures, allowing the guests time to arrive.  The pretty bridge in the grounds of Brocket Hall was a perfect backdrop for their wedding pictures.

Drinks Reception at Brocket Hall

Guests were treated to champagne and canapés as they chatted on this warm afternoon outside Brocket Hall.  I love to capture the fun, happiness and personalities of the guests during this time.

The couple wanted a handful of group pictures of their family.  I love to shoot groups in an elegant style and make sure that they are completed quickly! No body wants to spend all afternoon grinning at me! So the few groups they had took about ten minutes.

During the drinks reception, I nipped inside to photograph the wonderful room. I was lucky enough to be seated with the guests.  So I got to try the french macaroon favours! Yum!

Wedding Photos at Brocket Hall

While the guests took their seats, I grabbed my lovely couple for some quick pictures while they were waiting to be announced into dinner.  I’m conscious not to take my clients away from the action for too long, so this little gap in proceedings was perfect for them. I like to keep my portraits really natural and relaxed.

The couple were announced in to applause and they chose to have their speeches in between courses.

After I shot this beautiful wedding, I received this wonderful review from Rachel and Jonathan..

Kerry is absolutely outstanding – faultless, extremely professional but still so personable and the photos she captured of our wedding day (along with all the others pictures in her online portfolio) just speak for themselves. She captured some of the most precious moments from our wedding day that we now have to treasure forever, and we are both so pleased that we booked her for our big day. A preview of some of the photos came within a couple of weeks and we’d received all the pictures shortly after, and the album was delivered within 5 weeks of our wedding day; flawless service & everything beat our expectations! I would recommend Kerry to every couple looking to book a wedding photographer – she will not disappoint you!
