Alicia & Jun tied the knot at The Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire. I love shooting at the Four Seasons, it’s a gorgeous wedding venue.
Alicia and Jun took the unusual step of holding their wedding outside – in Autumn, a decision that was not for the faint hearted! I think they loved the pictures you so often see of southern California weddings bathed in beautiful sunshine. We had a mixture of sunshine and clouds, which made it extremely challenging from a photographic point of view. It was constantly changing as the northerly wind was blowing the clouds along at a fast pace. The hotel kindly handed out blankets and Barber jackets for the couple’s guests. I worked with Zoe Lingard – one of my favourite wedding planners and she was amazing all day (not least as she was in her third trimester of pregnancy!) running around making sure everything looked amazing and ran seamlessly.
It was also really lovely to meet Curtis and his wife Laura from Living Cinema. They specialise in Super 8 and 16mm films mixed with HD video to create really unique cinematography. They flew over from Orange County to shoot Alicia and Jun’s day. They were really great to work with, relaxed and didn’t get in the way at all. If you’re planning on having your wedding filmed – I know they’d love to work this side of the pond again – check out their site
