Rupert & Rebecca’s Wedding at Château Saint-Maur
Some weddings feel like stories unfolding. Rupert and Rebecca’s wedding at Château Saint-Maur was exactly that, heartfelt, joyful, and full of surprises from start to finish.
The day began in Port Grimaud, where the couple were married in the town’s pretty little church. The setting felt almost too perfect: soft Mediterranean light, colourful facades reflected in the water, and the sound of bells drifting on the breeze. Guests gathered along the narrow paths and canals before heading inside for the ceremony, which was emotional, simple, and full of warmth.

Drinks at Port Grimaud
After the ceremony, Rupert and Rebecca organised drinks by the water in Port Grimaud — one of the loveliest post-ceremony ideas I’ve seen. There was a little champagne truck parked on the square, serving bubbles in the sunshine, and an ice cream cart which made everyone smile (especially the kids). It felt relaxed, festive, and very French.
Before heading to the train, guests lined up along the bridge for a confetti send-off. It was one of those moments that felt spontaneous and joyful — cheers, laughter, and a flurry of petals as the couple walked through the crowd. I captured it all from the side, letting the moment happen naturally.

From Church to Château by Train
After the ceremony, the celebration continued in a way I’ve never seen before — everyone boarded a private train that wound through the hills to Château Saint-Maur. There was a sense of adventure and anticipation, and it set the tone for the rest of the day.
Guests arrived at the château to be greeted by circus performers, trapeze artists, jugglers, acrobats, live music. It was unexpected, playful and brilliant. I loved how Rupert and Rebecca created a day that was both elegant and completely personal.

The Venue: Château Saint-Maur
Set in the Provençal countryside near Cogolin, Château Saint-Maur is known for its beautiful architecture, incredible light, and rows of vines stretching into the distance. If you’re dreaming of a wedding at Château Saint-Maur, it’s hard to imagine a more luxurious, light-filled setting.
The couple had chosen long outdoor tables under the trees for dinner, creating a relaxed, warm atmosphere as the sun began to set.
As a wedding photographer in Provence, I’m always looking for light — and Château Saint-Maur delivered. We slipped away during golden hour for some portraits in the vines and surrounding gardens. The light was soft and low, and they looked completely themselves — just happy and a little overwhelmed in the best possible way.
I’d love to photograph another wedding at Château Saint-Maur — it’s one of those places that offers something special every time.

A Celebration with Heart
Dinner was timed just before we took some portraits during the most beautiful golden hour. We didn’t need to do much — just a short wander through the vines and grounds, and a few quiet moments that gave them a breather before the next part of the evening.
The light at Château Saint-Maur was incredible — warm, low, and flattering. We stepped away for a few quiet minutes before sunset, just the three of us, and captured some relaxed portraits among the vines and trees. I gave just enough direction to keep things easy and flowing, but nothing felt posed or stressful. It was one of those shoots where everything just came together — the light, the setting, and the way they looked at each other.
