Irish Wedding in France
Thinking of having your wedding in France but bringing the Irish spirit with you? You’re not alone. I’ve worked with lots of Irish couples who chose to say their vows somewhere sunny, scenic and a little more laid-back, and France is one of the best spots for it.
Planning an Irish wedding in France doesn’t need to be complicated, it can be simple, stunning, and full of joy.
I’m Kerry Morgan, a wedding photographer based in the South of France. I’ve photographed hundreds of weddings here, many of them for Irish couples looking for something elegant but relaxed. If you’re planning a celebration that’s full of laughter, a bit of style, and maybe even a singalong at the end of the night, I’d love to be part of it.
Why Irish Couples choose France?
Let’s start with the obvious: the weather. But it’s not just sunshine that makes France special. It’s the light, the food, the wine, the space, the rhythm of the day. France doesn’t rush things. You get to slow down, savour the moment and enjoy the company of the people you love most.
And the settings? From vineyard weddings in the countryside to grand château celebrations with all your family and friends, France gives you the wow factor without the stress. It’s a short flight for guests, and once they arrive, they usually never want to leave.
WhaT Irish Couples Need to Know
Most Irish couples who get married in France opt for a symbolic ceremony you do the legal bit at home and come here for the real celebration. It’s easier, more flexible, and allows you to create a day that feels totally yours.
You can plan everything yourself or work with a local planner, I’ve worked with both and I’m happy to share tips, timings or local recommendations either way.
Some couples go for a relaxed, one-day event. Others turn it into a full weekend — welcome drinks, pool day, a big dinner the day after. There’s no right way to do it. That’s what’s lovely about getting married here: it can be exactly what you want it to be.
My style as a wedding photographer in France
I work in a natural, relaxed way. No endless posing. No fuss. Just honest, beautiful photography that reflects the feel of the day.
Most of my Irish couples tell me they don’t love having their photo taken. That’s fine — actually, most people don’t. I’m good at making you feel at ease, helping you look like yourselves, and making the photography part of the day flow effortlessly.
You’ll get a full story of the day, from the prep to the pint before the ceremony to the late-night dancing. I’ll capture it all without ever taking over or dragging you away from the fun.
