A Stylish ChAteau Carrasses Vineyard Wedding

Luke & Adam’s Elegant Celebration in France

Luke and Adam’s Chateau Carrasses vineyard wedding was the perfect blend of elegance, warmth and unforgettable French charm. Held in early summer at one of the most beautiful venues in the South of France, their day was full of style, love and laughter. From the outdoor ceremony beside the glasshouse to a cheese tower lit with fireworks, it was a celebration that reflected the couple’s personalities. Refined, joyful and deeply connected.

As a wedding photographer, I’ve worked at Chateau Les Carrasses many times, and this one felt especially magical. The ceremony was led by the wonderful Barbara Simpson Birks, a celebrant I always enjoy working with. Her calm, heartfelt approach set the tone beautifully.

Barbara Simpson Birks led the ceremony with her usual warmth and calm presence. Every word felt meaningful, and there were plenty of smiles and even a few happy tears among the guests. Having someone like Barbara officiate always adds a very personal layer to the day.

The Ceremony Beside the Glasshouse

The ceremony took place just outside Chateau Carrasses’ iconic glasshouse, a stunning setting that gave a nod to the estate’s historic charm. Guests gathered under muted cloudy which created a cinematic atmosphere for Luke and Adam’s vows (a relief from the burning sun). There was a sense of anticipation as the clouds gathered, but not a drop of rain fell. Instead, the weather added a dramatic edge to an already emotional and heartfelt ceremony.

Stormy Skies and Relaxed Portraits

The changing weather only added to the drama and romance of Luke and Adam’s Château Carrasses vineyard wedding. It started out baking hot, clouded over during the ceremony, then cleared up beautifully just in time for portraits. The light at Château Carrasses is always beautiful, but on this day, it was especially soft and cinematic.

I used a quiet alley behind the château lined with greenery and diffused light to create relaxed, natural portraits of the couple. Luke and Adam were brilliant to photograph. Stylish, relaxed and totally in the moment. Later, thunder rolled across the hills and lightning lit up the horizon, but it all passed without a drop of rain. The storm added just the right amount of atmosphere to an already unforgettable day.

Elegant Details and Thoughtful Touches

Luke and Adam’s wedding style was effortlessly chic. Guests were treated to miniature bottles of gin as favours, each one illustrated with a stylish image of the glasshouse. It was a thoughtful touch that reflected the setting and the couple’s eye for detail.

Dinner was held outdoors in the soft summer light. Round tables overlooked the vines, and elegant floral arrangements added gentle colour without overpowering the scene. Luke and Adam made their entrance to cheers and guests waving napkins in the air, a fun French tradition that always brings energy to the start of the meal.

Capturing the Atmosphere

One of the things I love most about photographing weddings at Chateau Carrasses is the atmosphere. It encourages guests to relax and enjoy the surroundings. As the dinner unfolded, I wandered among the tables capturing quiet portraits of friends, couples and families deep in conversation or laughter.

Instead of a traditional cake, Luke and Adam surprised their guests with a tower of cheese, which was brought out to music and sparkling fireworks. It was such a fun and memorable moment, and everyone loved it. These are the types of details that help make a vineyard wedding in France feel so unique.

Why I Love Photographing ChAteau Carrasses Vineyard Weddings

Chateau Les Carrasses is one of my favourite venues in the South of France. Set among rolling vineyards with views across the Languedoc countryside, it offers a perfect mix of luxury and warmth. The staff are welcoming, the grounds are immaculate, and the variety of spaces, from the glasshouse to the terrace and tree-lined paths, gives me so many options as a photographer.

Every Chateau Carrasses vineyard wedding I’ve photographed has offered something new, whether it’s the light, the energy, or the personal touches couples bring to the day.
