Tithe Barn Wedding Photography – Kate & James – an amazing day
It was my first time shooting Tithe Barn Wedding Photography. Wow, what a cool venue. Near Ditcham, Petersfield on the Hampshire/West Sussex boarder. it is truly a stunning location. 300 acres of farmland with a large modern barn that can easily seat 250 people. I was excited to meet Kate and James. I knew they were going to have an amazing day because they were so relaxed beforehand. I didn’t get set a list of 80 must have pictures, they just trusted me to capture their day without fuss or intrusion.
Kate is an actress. She told me she wanted naturally pictures because she didn’t want to be directed on her wedding day. She had enough of that in her job. I like shooting in a very natural way, so this was perfect. I arrived to shoot Kate getting ready with her bridesmaids. The girls wore brightly coloured dresses and looked amazing. There was much laughter and everyone was relaxed and excited.
I was happy to hear that Kate had used Jay Archer for her flowers. Jay is one of the best in the business and I love her style of floral design. It fitted perfectly with Kate’s country wedding. The flowers were wild, unstructured and pretty. Jay even used some flowers from her own garden in Kate’s bouquet. I love the idea that Jay is so passionate about her job that she even grows flowers for her clients.
James was waiting patiently at the Tithe Barn. When Kate walked down the aisle on the arm of her father, she looked incredible and James looked chuffed to bits. You could feel the electricity in the room. People smiled at each other and you could feel the warmth for the couple in the room.
James waits patiently for Kate.
The ceremony was full of laughter. It was a great thing to shoot.
After they were married champagne was served on the lawns outside. My fiends at Caper & Berry were in charge of the drinks and catering. It’s always a pleasure to work with them and Joe was particularly helpful (thanks for lugging chairs around for me Joe!!).
The barn looked amazing! The tree was the top table – another fab idea from Jay Archer.
The guests were ushered into the barn for the meal. Caper and Berry once again delivered a fabulous feast. Kate and James kindly seated me with their guests, which was so nice of them. I got to know some of their family and here about them. It was clear that they are both loved very much.
Joe hard at work. While the guests were taking their seats I shot a few relaxed pictures of Kate and James, around the barn and down the lane. They were both so cool to work with and I loved shooting their story.
I loved the light under the willow trees. Soft and pretty, perfect for this style of picture.
Kate’s Dad’s speech was brilliant.
There were so many shots I wanted to share from the amazing wedding, I have put together a short slideshow for those of you who want to see more Tithe Barn Wedding Photography….
