Rayavadee Wedding Thailand – Part Two, The Buddist ceremony

Rayavadee Wedding Thailand – Buddist wedding – Wedding Photographer Thailand

After a week of activities, Kirsty & Dan’s amazing wedding in Thailand was finally here. The day started for me at 7am at Kirsty’s hotel. After shooting all the preparations, it was time to head to the beautiful Rayavadee Resort meet Dan and shoot some pictures of the two of them on the beach. We started early and had the beach to ourselves, the light was fantastic. They both looked incredible – I wish I looked as good at 8.30 in the morning!

The couple then headed to the cave at the Rayavadee for their Buddhist ceremony – a blessing conducted by buddhist Monks. Their guests then took part in a water blessing. Each guests was invited to pour water onto the couples hands and bless their marriage with good wishes.

After these morning ceremonies it was time to back everything up on disc, have a spot of lunch and then head back to the Rayavadee Resort to shoot Kirsy’s preparations for her afternoon ceremony.

A big thanks to Suzanne Black, who second shot this wedding with me.

Onto some favourites from their Rayavadee Wedding Thailand…

I don’t think it gets more perfect than this! The key to getting the beach so empty was shooting really early.

There was so much to shoot. It was nice to have half an hour for pictures instead of the usual ten minutes I seem to get. Pictures were a top priority for Dan and Kirsty and they set aside time in the day to make them.

After the Buddist ceremony, the couple had a water blessing. Garlands were placed on their necks and their hands washed with water. All their friends and family joined in.

I wanted the smaller groups to have a fun, warm feel to them and the larger ones a more elegant “Vanity Fair” look.
