Gaynes Park wedding – Allison & Neil
Gaynes Park wedding
I had been looking forward to shooting Allison and Neil’s Gaynes Park Wedding . It was my first time at Gaynes Park. I have been shooting weddings for 21 years and to have not visited such a wonderful venue before was surprising. I do hope I’ll be back again soon. It had some great little spots and I really enjoyed working there.
Allison and Neil wanted their Gaynes Park Wedding to be very relaxed. I shot in the background for most of the day, pausing only for some natural portraits. Their ceremony was held in the stunning orangery at Gaynes Park. It was an emotional moment when Allison made her entrance. She looked fantastic, I loved her pretty lace covered gown.
After the ceremony the couple led their guests out onto the lawn for drinks. It was easy to capture a relaxed vibe, everyone wondered around outside enjoyed a first rare glimpse of the spring sunshine at this Gaynes Park Wedding. Guests sipped champagne and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.
We were treated to a rare sighting of the red arrows and I managed to grab a shot as he whizzed past. Guests joked that Allison and Neil had arranged a flay past for their special day.
Towards the end of the drinks reception we wandered off to shoot some portraits of Allison and Neil together. I knew they didn’t want lots of staged, posed pictures but wanted something more relaxed and less formal. Most people hate posing for pictures, so I always try and make anything I do really simple and natural. I want clients to look at my pictures and recognise themselves, not say “Oh, do you remember when that photographer got us to do that!” Hopefully their portraits achieve this!
Here are some of my favourites from their Gaynes Park Wedding….
Blue skies! We haven’t seen those for a while.

The red arrows treat us to a fly past!
I made full use of the beautiful spring blossom. I love the colours in this picture.
The couple’s guests lined the pathway to throw confetti.
Bernadette from the amazing wedding and event planners, Dream Occasions, made sure every last detail was perfect.
