I was so excited to be shooting at such a lovely venue. I had wanted to work at The Gallivant for what seemed like forever and so when Hannah and James commissioned me to shoot their day, I was chuffed to bits. You see, the Gallivant really does have it all. It’s location is perfect – opposite the beach. The interior has a casual beach-house vibe, with distressed beach furniture and warm furs drapped over the seating. I settled in one chair by an open fire to eat and it was the most heavenly of spots. Which brings me to the food – James and Hannah served their guests “Roast Salt Marsh butterfly of lamb, garlic and Rosemary and salsa verde” as a main course and it was to die for. Thanks to Mark for looking after me so well.
When I arrived back at their Gallivant Hotel wedding after the church service, I photographed the drinks reception. When I shoot, I like to look for emotion and expressions. Everyone was having a splendid time, so happy faces weren’t hard to find. The couple even requested a very cool oyster bar for their guests – fun for people who had not tried oysters and of course, delicious for those who were already fans.
Towards the end of the drinks reception, we headed over with some of the bridal party to the beach for pictures. It was really cold and windy but everyone was very brave and I got some lovely images. James and Hannah’s Gallivant Hotel wedding was one I’ll remember for a long, long time. It was a blast – here are some of my favourites…

The marquee at The Gallivant hotel looked so cool.

What a cool idea – the guests names were in tiny bottles! Hannah told me her mum spent days assembling them – what a lovely mum!

The couples seating plan.

Love the parasols full of flowers. Another great job from Hannah’s florist.

The Oyster bar was a lovely touch.

I love shooting for expressions and emotions.

Hannah in her Jenny Packham dress – STUNNING!!!

The girls!
The boys!

The bridal party.

I could resist this picture of Hannah’s shoes strewn on the sand.

Loved shooting these images for Hannah and James. Everyone went back to The Gallivant and we spent a few minutes shooting these.

This made me laugh – the moment Hannah asked what the time was! She went off like lightening to The Gallivant.

Cake cutting with the family sword!
