Chateau du Bijou Wedding – Sam & Rachel Marry in Provence
Sam and Rachel’s Chateau du Bijou Wedding was an amazing day to be part of. Set in an incredibly beautiful part of the world, with the most stunning of days. Clear blue skies and hot. The Chateau itself is charming. It has a wonderful vibe, very welcoming. Sam and Rachel made it their home. They welcomed friends and family from all over the world to celebrate with them.
It is almost impossible to get married legally in France if you are not a full time resident. You have to live here for 40 days, have utility bills in your name and in some departments, even have blood tests! So most people opt to do the legal bit beforehand. The beauty of that is that your ceremony in front of your nearest and dearest can be very personal. Sam and Rachel had Sam’s brother perform the ceremony. I can’t remember the name of his “ministry” (he did actually get ordained!) but it took any formality away and you were just left with love and fun. Perfect. Friends and Siblings gave readings and everyone looked on with huge smiles.
The drinks reception was a relaxed affair, with canapes and fresh seafood being offered alongside champagne. We took 15 minutes out to shoot some relaxed family groups and sweet portraits of the two of them. The light was divine.
Dinner was typically french -long tables stretched out long into the night; with wine, chatter and all the time in the world. The wonderful thing about getting married here is there is no timetable. The full moon lit up the night and the dancing and laughter carried on and on.
Here are some of my favourite pictures from their Chateau du Bijou Wedding….I hope you enjoy them!
If you are getting married in the south of France I’d love to hear about your plans!
Congratulations Sam & Rachel!
