Bruisyard Hall wedding photos – Jo & Ben’s Christmas wedding

Once we got back to Bruisyard Hall everyone relaxed with some champagne. It was bitterly cold outside, so instead of sticking with the original plan to shoot the groups outside, we shot them in the barn. Much nicer for all concerned. I enjoyed covering the drinks reception and getting lots of natural photographs of people chatting and have a good time.
We decided to spent 15 minutes getting some pictures of Jo and Ben together. They were good sports as the weather was rubbish! I made sure I worked super quick outside to minimise both the time they spent away from their guests and the time they spent in the cold. We took their Bruisyard Hall wedding photos inside too. I used the stunning interior to create some really gorgeous images of the two of them.
The rest of the day, I shot in a completely documentary story-telling way. It got dark just before 4pm, so most of the images were shot after dark. I like to mix ambient light with flash to give a nice feel to the images. I use this technique at lot in at winter weddings.
Jo and Ben’s friends and family made me feel so welcome, like I wasn’t a hired hand but a friend. I had a lot of fun shooting the party and I hope the pictures show just how much fun people had. Christmas weddings are so cool!
Here are some of my favourite Bruisyard Hall wedding photos…
Congratulations Ben & Jo!
