Queens House wedding Greenwich
Queens House wedding Greenwich – London wedding photographer
I was dying to shoot at the Queen’s House Greenwich. I have shot weddings in Greenwich since my very early days as a wedding photographer and it’s one of my favourite locations to shoot weddings in London. It’s very local to me and Greenwich has a village charm to it. I often visit on a Sunday, the indoor market is fantastic for those hard to find gifts. Greenwich is full of history and there’s a story around every corner. Helen and Henry had a beautiful wedding ceremony at St Alfedge Church in the heart of Maritime Greenwich. I love shooting in this church – not only is it stunning but the vicar is kind and appreciates a discreet photographer. He let me shoot from the front, throughout the ceremony which always produces the best pictures. From this position you can really feel the emotion through the lens.
It was then on to the charming Queen’s House in Greenwich for Helen and Henry’s wedding reception. Catering was provided by the fantastic Bovingdons – their gorgeous food and complete professionalism never fail to surprise me – another job well done.
Queen’s house has everything you could want as a photographer, stunning architecture is apparent both inside and out. The colonnades provide shelter if the weather is not too kind but don’t limit the light and the Tulip staircase inside the Queen’s House is a sight to behold. The first unsupported staircase in the world, it spirals up through the classical building and begs to be photographed! I shot from several angles – from above and from below. I’m not afraid of heights but leaning over the sides did make me feel a little icky!
Anyway, here are my favourite pictures from their Queens House wedding Greenwich…
Congratulations Helen & Henry
