France is probably my favourite place in the whole world. I love the culture, the food, the people, the wine, the weather and its incredible understated beauty. So I was thrilled when Bruno and Edith asked me to travel from my home in Kent to photograph their wedding in the beautiful Loire Valley. I was so excited to be photographing a real french wedding and to be surrounded by french speakers. From start to finish Bruno and Edith couldn’t have made me feel more welcome. They’re such a lovely easy going couple and nothing was too much trouble.
I arrived at Edith’s mothers house and was promptly given an espresso – that’s another thing I love about the french, they know how to make coffee! The very talented Albert had been working on Edith’s hair, which looked so beautifully elegant and it was here, I started my story of their fantastic wedding day…..

Edith’s nephew was called Kenny and he was so cute!

In france, everyone has to have a civil ceremony as religious ceremonies are not legally recognised. Here, Edith and Bruno are married by the local Mairie (Mayor).

The couple hired a white taxi to transport them to their beautiful chateau reception.
