This was my first visit to the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire. What a beautiful venue!
It was the most gorgeous spring day and not a cloud in the sky. I always think of April as the start of the wedding season and the prospect of taking some beautiful pictures of people enjoying the spring sunshine was exciting in itself. I love shooting in the winter but everyone seems a lot happier to go outside when it’s not freezing outside!
Rebecca and Paul were a pleasure to photograph, very relaxed and easy going. I enjoyed trying to incorporate the feeling of spring into their day. I asked Rebecca what had been the hardest thing about planning the wedding, she told me it was making decisions. I can totally relate to this, as making decisions is probably the hardest part of the planning for me as well. There’s so much inspiration around nowadays, not just from the array of wedding magazines but also from the wedding blogs that seem to be multiplying at an astonishing rate. Then there is the little matter of being lucky enogh to attend so many weddings with brilliant ideas! I certainly will be taking some inspiration from Rebecca’s day - she kept it simple, understated, fresh and elegant. Perfect for her stylish spring wedding!
Here’s some favourites:

Rebecca’s ‘something blue’ were her pretty Kurt Geiger shoes.

Paul’s buttonhole was made with Lily of the Valley and orchid. His suit and tie were both from Richard James of Saville Row.

Rebecca’s spring bouquet with orchids, roses and Lily of the Valley smelt amazing! All her arrangements were by Jeannette Rawson.

Rebecca looked stunning in her Maggie Sotero dress.

The children looked so cute playing in the daffodils

I’ve never known a DJ to get quite so much attention from the ladies!

If you’re a bride who follows this blog – I’d strongly suggest putting just 10 or 15 minutes aside for some pictures to be shot in the 40/30 minutes before sunset. It’s the most beautiful time of the day for pictures and well worth those extra few minutes.

Rebecca and Paul danced “strictly” style to Marc Bolan’s ‘I Love to Boogie’. It was fantastic. Rebecca chose to slip into this pretty Ted Baker dress to make the most of the fast jive.

The suprise for Rebecca and Paul were the scores at the end – the couple had no idea that they were being marked!

Congratulations Rebecca & Paul!
