I arrived at Kirsty’s family home to find her getting ready and lots of relatives buzzing around with excitement. Kirsty’s auntie made me a lovely cup of tea and I set to work making images.
Kirsty and Paul chose the very pretty church of St Mary the Virgin in Twickenham. I had been told that the Vicar did not allow photography during the service and I was so disappointed. As a wedding photographer, photographing the wedding is really central to the coverage and it’s so lovely for the couple to have some pictures of the ceremony itself. I arrived at the church early to discuss things with Jeff the vicar. It turned out he was a really lovely chap and had just had some bad experiences with nightmare photographers. I assured him that I was very discreet and did not use flash photography. He agreed that it would be OK. After the service he said I could go back anytime I liked and I’d always be welcome to shoot in his church – which I was really thrilled about!
After the service we made our way to the reception venue at Syon Park. It’s been a while since I’ve taken photographs at Syon Park – in fact the last time I shot there I was still using 35mm film. It had not lost any of its charm; a truly stunning wedding venue. Everyone sipped champagne on the lawn as the Sun got lower in the sky and created some gorgeous light to shoot in.
Here are a few of my favourites of the day.

I love the Great Conservatory for pictures, it looks amazing both inside and out.

Congratulations Kirsty & Paul – Enjoy Brazil!!!
