Rachel & Matt got married in a civil ceremony held at The Hospital Club. This was one of the first weddings held at the Club. As a private members club for the creative industries it has all that you expect. A funky yet glamourous interior with quirky features that beg to be photographed.
Last June, Rachel had been a bridesmaid at Nicola & Clive’s wedding (featured in Cosmo Bride) and it was great to see some familar faces.
Rachel got ready with her bridesmaids Nicola, Rachel and Laura at the St Martin’s Lane Hotel. Hang out of the rich and famous (or sometimes infamous!), the hotel is stylish and modern.

Rachel had chosen a fantastic colour scheme to go with her modern venue. The flowers were really pretty and unusual for March.

The brides wore these great pink shoes with dark tights and charcoal grey silk dresses from Banana Republic tied around the waist with pink ribbon.

Rachel’s something old were her faithful white sandles, worn to lots of weddings before but very comfortable, a must for dancing the night away.

A short walk up to convent garden’s Endel Street and I was at The Hospital Club. Matt & Rachel had decorated the normally plain white roon with coloured lights and lanterns. They draped pretty candy stripped fabric over the windows at the front to sheild their ceremony from passers by. Coupled with the gorgeous flowers in large pink vases, the overall effect was impressive.

The boys looked very cool. I loved their ties.

Rachel and Matt had three readings during their ceremony and the first one was the following from When Harry Met Sally. The lady reading got very emotional whilst reciting and promptly set everyone off – including me!
I love that you get cold when it is 71 degrees out.
I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich.
I love that you get a little crinkle in your nose
when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts.
I love that after I spend day with you,
I can still smell your perfume on my clothes.
And I love that you are the last person
I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night.
And it’s not because I’m lonely,
and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve.
I came here tonight because when you realize
you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody,
you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.

I wish photography could convey smell! These cakes smelled so good, it took all my strength not to steal one!

Congratulations Rachel & Matt!
