I took two weeks off in January (a bit of a luxury for me!) and for a week I travelled to Phoenix, Arizona to a wedding photography convention. Hundreds of wedding photographers from all over the world, all in one place for one week! It was great fun.
While I was there, I decided to venture to a local rodeo to take some pictures. I called Cindy the chute boss of a local place called The Buffalo Chip a few days before and arranged an access all areas pass to get up close to the action.
What was most shocking was the age of some of the riders. One of them was 12!!! They seemed very young to be doing something so dangerous. That night it was 15 bucks a ride. Some of the cowboys asked me if I fancied giving it ago – to which I politely declined!
It was a great thing to document, I hope you enjoy the pictures.

These old cowboy boots were hanging on the ceilng of the bar – like trophys.
