Hadleigh Castle Wedding Photographer – An Elopement
When Amy first contacted me about her Hadleigh Castle Wedding Photography, I was really excited. Her and her partner Glen, were were to tie the knot in a simple ceremony and then go off to Hadleigh Castle for some pictures. Then finish with some images of the two of them at the pretty coastal town of Leigh-On-Sea in Essex.
From 1327 – 1377 Hadleigh Castle was the preferred residence of Edward 111. It was its views to the estuary that made it so great for him. Edward’s claim to the french throne had led to war. This was the perfect place to watch out for the enemy.
It was a spectacular place for pictures of the two of them. I loved the wildness of the place. Amy looked amazing. Cowboy boots, and a denim jacket over her dress. They both live in North Carolina (or through Glen grow up around these parts) and these little touches brought North Carolina to Essex.
We had a blast. I really liked the two of them. They were easy to work with and I’m sure if we didn’t live so far away, we’d be friends. After the windy heights of Hadleigh Castle, we drove down to Leigh-On-Sea. I’ve shot at the Boatyard before, so knew it well. The old pubs, the bleak coastal shores and cobblestone alleyways made for great backdrops.
At the end of the shoot we all sat and had a drink. It was such an enjoyable afternoon. Amy then told me she was a wedding photographer in North Carolina. I suddenly felt very nervous, I was glad she didn’t tell me beforehand! I hope you enjoy the images….
Love this one – there’s something so Wuthering Heights about it.
